I read on someone's page that kid's balls make the best herding toys, and Sophie confirmed that they do. I went to Target tonight and spent what I consider to be the best $2.50 ever. She loves that ball, and it provided great entertainment for our family too. Thanks for the big red ball idea!

Our dogs have a criminal tendency with balls, and there is a ball graveyard here, till we found a big red "hard" ball at the local pet store - it's made out of hard plastic - like the stuff thick mixing bowls are made of. Kai makes the weirdest sounds when playing with it, and it is still alive! For Christmas, my daughter found a big red "Egg" made out of the same stuff, and I'm surprised the police haven't been called when the egg and ball come out! It's like a rodeo in here.

My boy is all over the basketballs the same way. He herds them all over the back yard. If we kick them he will round them back up to us.

Get a soccer ball for $1 at a rummage sale. They're just big enough to be tooth-proof. The dogs never tire of it.

I think you might have seen that on my page, and if you did, you are welcome! They are so fun aren't they? I can't wait until it is nicer weather outside so we could really play with it :)

I've given up on balls for Duncan. He manages to poke a hole in most of them within the hour. I even bought a yoga ball, hoping that would last longer. It did in fact; a couple of weeks. But as soon as it had deflated a little, he was able to get a tooth into it. Imagine my surprise when he is running through the yard, dragging a big, flat, deflated ball.
