Can you help the corgis reach first place?

Sidney and I are part of a team involved in raising funds for the Humane Society. Our team is called "Team Low Rider! We are very excited, as the walk is only 10 days away!

We've got t-shirts on Zazzle.com (just search paws in the park 2010); that's Sidney in the driver's seat :)

We are very close to being the first place team! The team currently in first has held that honor every year, and I think it's time the shorties got their chance. This other team is actually quite nervous that we'll take the lead from them. Hee hee. If we can take first place, we'll be immortalized by having our team name on a plaque inside the Humane Society. If you would like to sponsor us (maybe you need a tax write-off for next year?), please consider helping the corgis REPRESENT! :D

I know that regardless of who takes the first place honor, the Humane Society ends up winning. Healthy competition is a good thing. But it would be so SWEET for a team of corgi parents to shake things up and have "Team Low Rider" on that plaque for a change. On behalf of the Southern California corgis, we thank you very much.

The numbers change hour by hour, and it's nervewracking! Here's hoping an angel with deep pockets has a fondness for short dogs, LOL. I hear the first place team, Team Sweet Pea and Jesse, are cat people.

Comment by Geri & Sidney on March 19, 2010 at 10:02am: Cheryl, thank you so much! Poway has a really nice dog park were we sometimes let the corgi frap and try to herd each other. Do you miss our sunny, expensive part of the world? I don't know if you remember when the Escondido Humane Society was in Kit Carson Park? Somebody burned it to the ground in 2001. It was heartwrenching...so many cays and dogs lost their lives. It has since been rebuilt, this time over by Lake Wholford. This kind of "never give up" attitude makes me proud to continue to support them :)
