We recently acquired a treadmill for weight loss purposes (ours, not the dogs) and both my furbabies are terrified of it.  If our bedroom door is open, Wrigley hides under the bed (27 lbs) and Ryno gets as close the under it as he can fit (31 lbs).  Do any of you have similar items that scare your big bad brave dogs?

Ryno is also scared of anything that blows in the wind (kites, balloons, banners, yard decorations, palm fronds).

Thank you.

Billy can't handle ANY type of floor cleaning monster either, it is soo bad I have to put him outside to vacuum.  He barks at strange things, he went nuts over a ROCK the other day, he wouldn't walk past it, we had to go in the street to pass the house but afterwards he gets curious and has to go back to check it out.  People wearing large hats are the devil. Skateboards are out to get him and ME.

Not much phases Lilly, Brody on the other hand also hates and floating fluttering type thing, balloons, kites, etc.  I guess both also hate the vacuum, lawn mower, sprinkler, water hose, ther'e probably more but that's all I can think of

Our treadmill doesn't seem to bother Bentley. But when it comes to any floor cleaning apparatus: Swiffer, Scotch-Brite Flexible Pet Hair Sweeper he barks & barks.  He especially hates the vacuum!  Since cleaning floors of corgi fur is a must, I just put Bentley in the kitchen behind the gate.   He feels safe because the  "monsters" can't get him.  Bentley does not like the sound of the weed eater either.  Oh, he is also scared of the "giants on the roof" (men working on the roof).  My husband always jokes around and tells Bentley, "Some brave dog you are".

Lemmy barks at anything that he hasn't been exposed to...he's terrified of a bush, yes a bush, that's growing in the yard across the street, when ever he sees it, he barks at it, and if it moves in the wind he flips his lid.
I normally just bring him right up to things he's scared of, and give him tons of praise. That tends to make him relax and stop caring.
I havnt brought him tot he bush though, don't think they're appreciate some women crossing the street with a barking dog onto their yard haha!

Wrigley absolutely destroys any stuffy animal that makes a noise or moves.  Her average time to kill and disable the noise/movement is 2 minutes.  Note: the dogs only freak out when the treadmill is in use.  It is right by their cages and they go right in for naps with no problem.

Ein hates the vacuum and water. She also hates roofers! (As in men working on a roof). Whenever we pass a house in the neighborhood that's getting a new roof, she growl at it until they're out of sight.

A few years ago, hubby and I went to a Star Trek convention and we bought some stuffed Tribbles (they actually vibrate and make that funny noise like on the show). Any time we activate the Tribbles, Rocky would freak out and hide in a corner.

Boo doesn't like it when I fold and "fluff" pants or garbage bags. She just barks and goes a little crazy! Not sure where she got that from but she has always been that way. I think those little quirks are totally normal especially for corgis :)

Helium balloons...Sage will crawl as far away as possible...really...one day at a Therapy dog visit she was trying to go under wheel chairs to the rear of the room. there was a helium balloon on the table. Even after I moved it outside the room she was still leary.

Any thing different on our deck or a plastic bag blowing in the wind will get mine barking too!

Ellie doesn't like anything different in the house.  She doesn't like things out of place.  Had a hot air balloon go over our house last summer--she freaked and ran back into the sun room.  Once she wouldn't go into the living room because a pillow was out of place.  She's goofy like that.
