Corgis in the snow... Weather alert!

So tonight we are supposed to get tons of snow (as is many states).  Just a few months ago we got four feet in the span of a little over 24 hours.  This isn't supposed to be nearly as much (only two feet or so), but I wonder how my babies will react?  Last time they had made little pathways while the snow fell and stuck to those as it got deeper and deeper... so it looked like they were running around a maze.  I wonder if they will do that again?  What does everyone else's corgis do when the snow gets deep?

Good luck to everyone who is supposed to get hit by this snow today and tomorrow!  Take care and be safe!

No new snow here - it's too cold! 40 below! Glad I picked up the boots. Traction not as good as bare feet, but kept his toes from freezing so he could go outside & take care of business. Plus, he did a darn cute "dance" in them! RuffWear also makes "socks" to wear inside the booties, but I'm thinking baby socks or booties might work too. I was just surprised (& thankful) that he let me put them on!

Keep your buddies (& selves) warm today!

Ginger loves the snow!!!  Until it's up over her shoulders like it is tonight.  This is her first winter and we are on the tail end of the big blizzard in Missouri.  We now have 11 inches of snow, but this pic was when we had around 7 or 8.  She loves bouncing around in it, but tends to stay in her tracks once they are made.  We'll see how tomorrow morning goes with the 11+ inches and potential drifts.

We are in the midst of the blizzard right now, and I have to say, it's kinda nice being able to say "house" and they all run in without hesitation!!  Our snowblown path through the yard is gone though, so we are down to just letting them out on the deck to do their business....

we had no idea how much corgis love the snow until we got ours.  we too are having a blizzard and are supposed to get 7-10 inches more.  the funniest thing is when they put their whole head (nose first) down into the snow.  when they pull it out they look hilarious.  we laugh hysterically and they look at us like WE are the crazy ones!

Everyone in southern WI is planning on a snow day tomorrow, blowing and snowing already!  We are supposed to get 20 inches with 40 mile winds.  That means lots of shoveling to keep the maze from filling in for the corgis!  I also picked up some Musher's Secret to try.

We live up in the Rockies - only 3 miles from a ski area. So we're used to snow! Bugsy loves it. This storm is bringing frigid cold however. I just picked up a pair of booties today to protect his toesies from the cold. I don't know if he'll tolerate them however. I also picked up a jar of musher's secret as a "back-up plan".

We only have a teeny yard & Bugsy has his little paths trampled out. I'll "widen the road" with my snowshoes & tamp out more room for him. I love when he gets the "I'm running away!" look & bounds off into the deep stuff. It's like chasing a caterpillar...

I'm sure we'll just have shorter walks the next few days while it's super cold (20 below!) but other than that it's business as usual. The last time it was this cold (last month) we just walked to the park & I threw the ball for him in the ladies room  for exercise (no one's there at 6am). Hey! whatever works, right?
