Last night I got to watch my favorite episode of NCIS...of course the one with Corgis. The Medical Examiner's mother (they are British) has 4 Corgis. The Corgis get a lot of screen time and dialog about them. I love when Gibbs tells Tony that the dogs are not hounds "They're Corgis". Also the ME says that in Wales the Corgi is the protector of the farmer and in his house they protect his mother. The Corgis really make the episode for me.

That episode of NCIS was when my husband and I decided our next dog should be a corgi! We had been talking about getting a second dog but wanted something the size of our papillon x sheltie cross. After the show we both looked at each other and started to say I think we should get a corgi. I started researching corgi's and breeders right after the show. Within a short time we found a breeder who had Violet and we fell in love with her on the spot!

I believe the Queen's Corgis are pembrokes. She also has some Dorgis. The Corgis on the show were both red and white Pembrokes. Very pretty and smart.

Now I will have to see if I can find Life After People! Are the Queen's corgis all Pembrokes, or mixed?

Last night on Life After People the Queen's Corgis were featured. It was too cool. The Corgis were capable survivors without humans....drinking from the 700 toilets in the palace and raiding the pantry for food. They pointed out that once the Corgis left the palace they would be smart enough, being herding/working dogs to do quite well on their own. Nice to see Corgis on TV and some common misconceptions about them dispelled.

Yeah I didn't notice that either. Would be cool to know where they are from. The Corgis stole the show for sure. That might be why you don't see more Corgis on the screen...the other actors don't stand a chance.
