Many of you may already know this, but Edward, a very sweet 2 year old corgi went in for surgery to remove a polyp in her bladder, and had her bladder rupture. This required emergency surgery to repair her bladder, and she will still need to under go more surgery, as well as vet care for another week or so. As you can imagine, this is not cheap! Poor Ed's Momma is a student, and need all the help she can get to pay for Ed's care. The latest news on Ed is that she made it through the night, and her bladder seems to be working normally! It looks like she is going to be ok! If you wish to help out there is a fund started for Ed, please help if you can, I have seen the power of the corgi community before and know that we can help Ed and her Momma! Check out the site http://www.giveforward.com/helpedthecorgi every dollar counts!

Just wanted to add an update, the biopsy on the polyp from Ed's bladder came back negative for cancer. So happy for Edward and her family! She is doing really well, still at the vets, and the vet tech taking care of her says he wants to dognap her and take her home with him!

Well a big thank you to you and everyone else who helps out and puts Ed and her corgfamily in their thoughts and/or prayers. I am certain Megan and Ed appreciate every bit of help and support they are getting. I agree with you that the corgi community is amazing, I don't think there is another community of dog owners out there quite like it!  If you want to see the adorable smiling face of the dog you are helping check out the site at twosillycorgis.tumblr.com!

While I agree with the idea that Pet Insurance is a great idea, and IF you can find a plan that has great coverage and won't kill your bank account that is great. Sadly pet insurance can't help Ed right now, so it is a moot point in this case. I also realize that not everyone has money to give, times are tight, I just posted this to try to bring it to the attention of more corgi lovers, to see if people could help.

That fundraiser is amazing, day one it has raised almost half of the necessary $5,000. Or should I say, Corgi owners are amazing!  But I'm with Tait on the insurance...I mean we all make sure WE are covered for emergencies and serious illness, why not our pets?
