Took Meeko to the dog park for the first time today!! He absolutly loved it! at first he would just run form the bigger dogs and hide behind me but then after a couple hours he was chasing them and just had a blast!! He did soo good. Now i realized just how trained his is. He would come when called and if he took someone elses ball id tell him to drop it and he did. The boxer that was there kept taking other peoples tennis balls and would take off and not drop it. Eventually they left when they got their ball. Thats was not fun the guy thought it was funny.. no on else did. But he loved it and I would like to take him again soon. Anyone take their corgi to a dog park regularly?

I've taken Harrison only twice so far. The first time didn't go so well. He got "attacked" my a bigger dog TWICE who I guess got annoyed by my puppy's excited barking. He didn't actually hurt him but Harrison started crying, which I had never heard from him before! After a few minutes he cautiously went out from hiding under me and started to play again. And once again the dog came after him. After that the dog owner came over and picked up his dog, asked if my pup was ok and walked away. He then kept his dog on a leash by his side on the other side of the park which I appreciated. What I didn't like was a random lady walking over to us asking why he was crying. I explained it was his first time there and he had just gotten scared. She replied "oh, well I guess its ok for today, but next time it wont be". Excuse me!!!
:sigh: the second time was alot better. Harrison fell into puppy love twice ;)
We go on about a monthly basis, the both of them love it and behave well. My mother (who is Maddie's owner) was terrified that Maddie wouldn't do well but I made her come with and watch how well she did and I think she nearly fainted with surprise. Maddie is very territorial and unsocial at the house, can't figure it out, but at the park she's friendly, submissive and listens (for the most part). Buddha is just always good and enjoys herding all the other dogs and hogging the obstacle course.
Glad you had a good experience! It's fun to watch them play.
