first month

Well we have had Maui almost a full month, and she is getting bigger everyday. Getting "bitier" everyday! BAD biter she is. Working on that effective today!

Cute, adorable, and sweetie she looks indeed, but underneath is a snarky brat! LOL Love her to death!

I tell her "No!" and she absolutely hates it, and she talks back!

But enough about the bad things... now for the good

House training is going about normal, an accident here or there but we keep up with letting her out every 1-3 hours depending on the time of day. Sher doesn't really give us a signal directly if she needs to go outside, just a whine and we look for the overactive sniffing.

She gets along with my cats pretty good. Chasing them mostly, but will on occassion sleep or lay next to one for a few minutes.

Socializing is going VERY well. Takes to people very quick and other dogs, always inquisitive. On occassion at home she hides behind me and barks at other dogs and at playtime, but other than that, she is gung ho!

Thats about it for me on her for now.

Comment by Alice on April 29, 2009 at 12:21pm: Glad to hear things are going well. The biting is normal and she will outgrow it. When Finn went through that phase it was frustrating. It seemed like all you had to do was touch him to activate bite mode. We would squeal "ouch" and turn away from him and eventually he caught on.

Finn still doesn't give us a sign he needs to go out. He has stopped having accidents in the house (our house anyway) but we keep up on taking him out every 4-5 hours since he won't just tell us he needs to go. I don't know when or how you get them to go to the door or bark or whatever but he isn't doing it. If Maui will at least whine that's pretty good. :)
