Has your corgi ever had fleas? Daisy got some last weekend and was itching herself everywhere! We bought a flea shampoo and applied to her a couple times and the fleas went bye bye. I was wondering what remedies you have discovered that work best for your doggie. I have heard Dawn diah soap works... I was wondering who knows if Frontline is a good anti-flea medicine or not. Does anyone know if the black dots in your dogs fur are flea poop or eggs? That would help. :)

Same as Melissa, we use Comfortis and it works very well. The only bad thing is it smells like dirt and Sidney won't eat it unless I chop it into 4ths and coat each piece in cream cheese.
Thank you guys for all the great tips. I also heard that fleas are immune to frontline. :( Thanks
the back dots in their fur is flea poop. flea eggs are white. Frontline worked for a while but the fleas have been becoming immune to it.
I just bathed Ziggy tonight in Dawn dish soap, and day after tomorrow he is getting another dose of Advocate :) I am not sure exactly which type of Advocate it is, but it protects against a whole bunch of types of worms and fleas/ticks.. Not mosquitoes though. Seems to work awesome, from our experience with the first month.
Frontline is an excellent product. Using Dawn dish soap will wash the frontline off though. I love Trifexis/Comfortis. It is an oral medication and you can't wash it off.
As for the black dots, that is flea poop, basically digested blood that the flea larva eat when it hatches. A flea shampoo will only get rid of adults but the eggs and larva will still be in your environment so you need to use some type of topical medication to kill all life cycles and not just the adults
