Food suggestions for PWC pup? Puppy vs Adult formula?

Knowing that I will be bringing home my first PWC pup in about two months, I am
starting to test the waters to figure out what kind of food to feed. I am a big
fan of Blue Buffalo. My cat has been on it for years and all of my coworkers
feed Blue with great success.

I was looking at either the Freedom or
Basics "lines" that Blue has to offer. Freedom is grain free and Basics is a
limited ingredient food.

Also, I know there are varying opinions on
whether or not puppies should be fed "puppy" formulas. I'm trying to understand
the reasons why, so any and all input would be appreciated!

While I do
love Blue, I am willing to try other brands as well

Thanks so much guys! So would I be fine sticking with a Blue food that is 24 % or less protein? I don't think any of their Puppy formulas have a protein content that low. I will look into the Canidae!

Once I get some more recent photos and a deposit is sent on the pup, I will post pictures! The one I'm eyeing is a tri female. Only 8 days old at the moment so she looks like a black and white roly poly! She will be named Bandit :)

I also use Canidea but at times have used the salmon TOTW. Keep protien level under 24% for a pup.

I have different age dogs so I feed mine the Canidae all stages.  They like it, and I can give to my older dogs, they are 10 and 9. And the younger are 4 and 3.  Congrats on your FurBaby!!!!  You will have to post photos!!!
