I realized today as I answered a discussion I have not updated you on what has happened here at the farm.  Two weeks ago we said goodbye to my sweet love, Emma Anne.  She turned 10 in March and was fighting thru DM.  About May she was only able to "seal walk" around the house and used her wheel-cart outside.  At first she would zip along to the barn, then she took to just barking from the front door of the house and slowly would make herself to the barn, stopping many times to lay and rest in the cart.  Next she was losing bladder control and was getting very depressed.  Ears hanging to the side, sparkle gone from her bright eyes.  She was not a happy camper.  We tried to keep diapers on her in the house but they would come off if she slid on the carpet.  Got to where she would just lay and wait for dinner.

Watching her go thru this was so hard.  When she got to where her front legs were getting weaker I knew it was time.  My wonderful vet came to the house and I sat in the recliner holding Emma as we sent her off to the Rainbow Bridge.  She is buried under the big Oak on the farm with 2 of my other loved dogs.  I know she is running and playing happily at the bridge and I will see her again.

Some of you may remember but on Mothers Day I rescued 2 Pembrokes, Jack and Katie.  Kate has healed well and they are much loved part of our family now.  I know God had his hand in this rescue as He knew Emma was not well and I would need a corgi to help me grieve.

RIP my sweetie pie, I will love you forever Emma Anne!

I am so sorry for your loss.  Know in your heart you made the right decision when she told you it was time.  It is the ulitmate act of love....she is happy and waiting for you!  And must be very proud you've managed to share a piece of your heart with some other corgis that needed a good mama!

I'm so sorry to hear about Emma Anne. You did a very brave thing and what a wonderful last bonding time with your beautiful girl (getting to hold her in your arms).

I'm so very sorry.  Your story brought tears to my eyes....I dread the day I have to make such a decision and I hope that I'll be able to with as much courage as you had.  You gave Emma Anne a wonderful life and you let her go when she told you it was time.
