Hi all! Thanks for all the nice comments. I'm happy to have found this site. For my first Blog entry I want to add an event that a club I belong to is hosting in Western Washington.
I belong to a schutzhund training club with my German Shepherd Dog. We are hosting an AHBA (American Herding Breed Association) certified herding instinct testing at Ewetopia, in Roy, Washington on Saturday, March 21st. It starts about 8am and lasts until about 2 or 3pm. There is food and fun and certificates for dogs who pass. This will qualify the dogs for their official HICs and HCTs. (Herding Instinct Certification and Herding Capability Tested)
There is no training involved as it's about breed instinct. Mixed breeds and non-herding breeds are also invited but won't qualify for the HCT.
We're also having 10.00 puppy runs for the little ones who are too young for their certificates. It's great to introduce puppies to sheep early on, especially if you'd like to try for the HIC/HCT or even herding training later.
It's a wonderful photo op as well! And, if you are like me, it's a great way to add "titles" to your dogs name.
Despite the fact that our club is mostly GSDs this event is "going to the corgis' as I already have about 5 cardis signed up. There is some more info here:

And I'm happy to answer questions as well. :-)
