My 3 month old Puppy is a mess.
Hes name is Ace and he is either sleeping fighting with hes brother( his brother is a cat and they PLAY fight always) or chewing on his toys. sounds normal right? Well he is sooo smart he is dumb. i mean that in the nicest way possible. Well everyone that me and ace met always say ace is small for hes age. which i was a little worried about, at the vet i brought it up. they said it was no problem. but training him is soo difficult. i enrolled him into a puppy training class we start on 9-7-13 i hope this help! Did anyone else have problems training their corgi? if so what did you do to fix the problem!

My corgi went through a stage where I thought i was going to lose my mind, then she just started listening and she was super easy to train. We still continue to train and she is super easy. The key is to be persistent. Don't give up classes will help you. I figured out that my corgi gets mad if we work too much on one thing so I found that working in short sessions then playing and then going back to short sessions made a huge difference.
Lol. I have to say I completely understand the "so smart he's dumb" thing. Franklin was the same way. Everything was really difficult when he was a tiny puppy until all of a sudden he just got it. Once he "got it" he was the easiest dog in the world to train. So my advice, have a lot of patience, keep at it, stick to the training classes, and once your puppy understands you better you are going to have the best dog in the world. Franklin was somewhere around 5 months old when this happened but until then he was like talking to a wall....well a really smart wall.....
I followed the training outlined in the Golden Gate Corgi rescue group's website. It worked really good for training our puppy. Here is the link http://www.goldengatecorgis.org/articles/articles.htm
mouthing and basic obedience
What specifically are you having issues with? Housebreaking, mouthing, leash manners, basic obedience, etc?
