As we all know, our fur-babies are of the "fun-sized" persuasion. We ended up getting rid of our 4 poster bed, in exchange for a very low king-sized Ikea MALM bed which they can easily jump up on (and pleasurably enjoy hogging the ENTIRE bed). Well....in the mornings after the dogs get their first feeding, our girl will RACE my husband back to bed (he gets up, feeds both corgi's and then feeds our bunny) so she can jump on him and lick his face with appreciative "Thanks for the NOMs" kisses.  Yesterday morning, he was almost under the covers but still sitting up when she charges in at Super-goggie speed and knocks him over!  If I hadn't been awake to witness it, I wouldn't have believed it!  Now, I am 6 1/2 months pregnant, so if I sneeze too hard there is a risk I may pee....I was VERY close to peeing in bed after this happened because I was hysterically laughing!  And of course since I had the gall to laugh at her after this, she came over to my side to "bonk" me with her nose and give me a few kisses.

Then our boy leisurely wanders in and resumes his place at my feet, licking his chops deliciously.

Anyone else's corgis do these crazy things??  I cannot tell if its the thrill of being able to get up onto the bed after the NOMs that excites her, or the fact that she has received her first meal for the day. Whichever, it is the funniest thing to witness.

our mattress is sitting on a very low platform. Every night both dogs get on the bed and play, with Casey under the covers and Corie jumping on him.. this goes on till the lights go out.. then Casey gets off the bed and goes and sleeps on his own bed.. Corie takes her place between us.. zzz

In the mornings, Casey whines till one of us gets us and takes him out to go potty.. Corie can hold her bladder for a very long time!

Bucher sits and stares at us when he wants to go to bed & Sally just goes into the bedroom and goes to sleep.  It is usually before 8pm.  I can't wait for day light savings time on Saturday night!  He got me up by 3:45 this am, we usually get up at 4:00am.  They go out and go potty, get a little chicken treat and then get to go back to bed with daddy, (he then takes up all my space)!  I can't get them to realize that we could sleep in on the weekend!!  Oh well, more corgi cuddle time on Sat & Sun! :)

I know that my Corgi has her quarks, she knows her bedtime for sure. The " Arrrooowww" in the morning, I'm pretty sure that means " Hi, I gotta go potty". Then there is the soft bark followed by a play bow after the walk " Come get me" I think is the translation. There is the yawn bark which comes out more like a human yawn, even with the small whine in the end. There is the sneak attack at bedtime which is ( Jaws theme plays) slowly belly crawls up, till we sit nose to nose, then the lick.

Though I'm still confused about the butt thing, it seems no matter what happens she always likes to sleep with her butt to me, I do try turning her around...dosen't work. Best I can get is her butt laying on me rather then facing me.

Anyways, this is what she dose.

A vision of Dog Paradise: wake up, amble out of bed to get fed, then race back into bed for a snuggle and a nap until the next meal.

I'm gonna have to change my password before Al & Gwynn read this.

OMG, I was laughing out loud reading your post.  We have a tall...tall bed.  Ryno jumps up and his paws barely reach the box springs.  We then give him a Ninja boost.  Wrigley thinks she can jump up and tries repeatedly.

We had a very firm rule of no dogs on the bed.  Then it hit 60 degrees here in Florida and my husband decided they might freeze if they didnt come in.

Now every night we say night-night and they run right to the bedroom door, nails clicking on the tile.
