Machete's August BarkBox Arrived! Yay!

barkbox time! yay! and earlier than i expected, too. it arrived yesterday afternoon, barely any time after we got our shipping notice.

as always, this little goober gets excited when he knows something is for him (either that we’ve come home with something special for him from the store or that he’s got something in the mail). anyway, after july’s box being a pleasant surprise, very interested in what this month’s box had in store…

first up in the box, we got something super, duper exciting.  well, super exciting for us because we’ve been trying out a lot more freeze-dried and single-ingredient treats. we got some liver munchies from primal pet. can’t wait to try these out on machete.

er, maybe a little too excited there, aragorn…

next up, something we actually already tried on his walk yesterday, some duck strip treats from plato pets.

dogs are usually fans of the grossest treats, and that has been holding true with us and machete. liver bits? lung? disgusting duck bits? loves ‘em! fortunately these don’t reek horribly and are easy to break into tiny pieces. super helpful for training.

next, something that i’m not entirely certain we’re going to try because…er, what am i supposed to do with this? barkworthies makes bully flakes, i guess…and it’s supposed to be geared towards pups who won’t eat there dinner, something to entice them to finishing meals.  and if you don’t have a corgi, then i guess that’s something you experience but seriously have you ever come across a corg that won’t eat dinner?

we follow a pretty strict diet for machete, and i don’t know if you’re aware but ‘bully sticks’ are essentially dried bull penis.  so, barkbox sent us a bag FULL of dried penis flakes.  thanks, barkbox. :p

moving right along, we got a toy! yay! a toy!  it’s another product from aussie naturals, though for some reason if you go to their website it says ‘account suspended’ so not sure what’s up with that. however, the toy is cool, and something we’re looking to try out at the pond or maybe in the puppy pool. it’s an aussie naturals floaties dolphin toy!

machete really, really wants to tear this toy to bits, but we’re going to at least test it out on water, first…see how that goes. hopefully it lasts longer than his shark floaty toy lasted.

and finally, a frosty pups type treat from the honest kitchen. grain-free, salt-free, and looks cool enough. i have mixed feelings on the honest kitchen but we still have a big of summer weather left so this could be cool.

Just what is BarkBox? It’s a monthly box of treats, toys & products for your dog plus 10% goes to charity! Get $5 off here(and your subscription gets Machete a free box, which we definitely appreciate)

yeah, we're excited to try out the little dolphin, and hopefully it gets machete to like his pool better? he loves the ocean, loves ponds and lakes, but is not a big fan of his pool. or sprinklers. loves the rain, just never really into water that comes out of a hose :p

silly dog.

We got our barkbox yesterday, tried the dolphin in her little pool and she loved it. It works better in water and she was super pumped that it had a ball AND a rope inside with a squeaker... it was hard to get her inside yesterday.

Abbey got her barkbox yesterday, too. It was fast coming. Abbey loves her dolphin, she drags it all over the house. Haven't tried it out in water, yet, but there is plenty of time yet for that. I have not opened all the treats but i let her try the dried duck and  liver. She definately preferred the duck over the dried liver. She is her mamma's child cuz i don't do liver either! ha
