It was January 2010 and I had to put my rescue boxer/staffy to sleep due to cancer. I was so sad to have lost my perfect 75lb lapdog, I cried for weeks. I have always had a dog from the time I was 2 years old so there was never a question of if I would be the mommy of another, but when... My mix Chaos was honestly the most loving dog I had ever owned and even though people were scared of him based on his looks, he was always happy and loving towards everyone! I rescued him at the age of 5 months after his owners had given up on him due to parvo. The local vet wanted to give him a fighting chance and after almost dying, Chaos was ready to go to a new home. They did extensive interviews to make sure that he would go to a good home..... Chaos picked me! =) His name of course was not Chaos, but he was a frisky little boney thing, I changed his name from "Ralphy" because that just didn't fit. He gave me 9+ good years and I miss him everyday.....
I had never owned a smaller dog, always had labs, mixes, Chows, etc.... but I had been seeing Corgis off and on I was intrigued. My sister-in-law has an aunt in New Mexico who breeds Pem. Corgis and in May 2010, she had a litter. I contacted her and she said she would have one for me I just had to pick it out! I was still debating getting a boxer or a corgi..... One day I saw 6 corgis within 1 hour.... it was some kind of a sign I tell you, because I hardly ever see corgis in my neighborhood! I called her and the wheels were set in motion. She had 3 males and 2 females, and I decided on a male.... pictures were emailed, and discussions were had... she said she would pick out the one with the best disposition for me if I trusted that... She picked out my baby and a couple of friends and I set out on a road trip to pick him up.... I didn't want him to fly out here alone.... I just couldn't do that to him! It was a long but fun trip, he never got carsick.... and is a great traveler to this day! It was the best road trip I've ever had and I wouldn't change a thing!
Loki was born on May 3, 2010 and came home with me on July 4, 2010. He's a happy, healthy and HUNGRY boy!
Here he is with his first monkey which is now just one skinny little monkey arm.... He can't keep a toy intact unless it's a tough rubber toy! He loves to rip these things up, but carries them around everywhere... He "love's them to pieces!"

What a wonderful story....I'm so glad you gave Chaos such a loving home. I hadn't had dogs until 5 years ago but now I wonder what I ever did without them.
You're comment on the monkey arm just made me laugh!!!
