... not really. My family and I are going on a ski trip to Colorado for a week (spring break!) but I can't get excited because I know I'll be missing Pooka (and I really really wanted to take her so she could play in snow). We went on a weekend trip to visit my college roommate in Wisconsin 2 weeks ago, and I was really missing her hard by the end of it. My mom said on the last day Pooka too was acting kind've mopey and getting excited to see my sister (who looks like me) even though she had her best friend Capri to play with.
So leaving for a week seems crazy to me! We have asked my grandma to take care of her. She has a cat, but the cat hates strangers and will likely avoid the house all week.
All the time I want to take her with us, but 1) the place we are staying doesn't allow it. 2) while we're up on the slopes, she'll be stuck at the condo in a crate all day. 3) 14 hour car ride (I think).
So, I guess, my question is, what can I do to make sure she's happy and not missing us too much? and it won't traumatize her right? make her feel abandoned? (she's 5 months old) I'm planning on leaving my bathrobe (and my husbands socks) with her so she has something that smells like us but that's all I can think of.
... I hope she doesn't pee on my grandma's rugs...
