My husband is very busy with work and his hobby ( playing guitar or bass for various groups). This often meant that I would be home alone several nights of the week. Kind of lonely. So I kept nagging that I wanted a dog to keep me company. Unfortunately, the place we lived wouldn't allow pets so my husband promised we would get one as soon as we lived somewhere that allowed pets or we bought our own home. Three years later, the location was right...and I held Patrick to his promise. We researched for at least two months. Finally, one Saturday in September we decided that we would visit the shelters to look. We knew that we would get a shelter dog because we couldn't afford to buy one from the pet store or breeder. Our third stop was at Animal Services and we walked down the hall of dogs. We stopped at Nana's cage and noticed that she was very quiet compared to the other dogs. We walked up and down the row and kept stopping at her cage. We asked if we could take her out to walk and play. That little stinker was putting on a show. The minute the handler opened the cage she made a break for it. They chased after her and caught her in the parking lot. We walked her around, played with her...fell in love. We were taking her home. A couple of fees later and a stop at the groomer's Nana made her way home and the best is yet to come.
