So almost 2 months ago we had a family emergency and had to leave minnesota. We had to rush by train and had to leave pickles behind with a baby sitter (fellow corgi lover) until we could fly him home. We have been trying to fly him out but the airlines will not do it because the weather is too cold for animal cargo. It's breaking my heart as he is my best friend and my therapy dog as well.

Currently my friend said he can drive as far as denver colorado to get him here but being that I don't drive and have health issues, I can't get out there to get him. I have been in touch with a corgi rescue page on facebook but am having no luck yet. I'm trying to find someone or an organization that can help transport a corgi from denver colorado to sacramento CA. My friend can only do this either the last weekend in november, or the 15th-16th of dec. All I want for xmas is my furry son, my friend, and my world to come back home to me. If there are any organizations or anyone knows of someone who may be able to help with transporting, please please please let me know. thank you.

Have you looked in to the cost of having the last leg of a hand-off drive done by a professional driver? I think the whole trip would be too much money (however, I really don't know as I have never priced a driver before), but if the sitter can drive part-way, maybe you could hire a driver for the last part.

Thank you for the links folks. Unfortunetly, the one is way out of budget, the one you left sam, only a few are in that area and only do plane transport. He can't fly at all because the temps right now. This is why i have to find a car transport which is proving difficult.

I live in Iowa, so not sure I could help.  I'd be willing to do something though...let us know if we can help or if you figure out a way to get him out to you!  I'd be willing to fly with him to get him to you...

There has to be some way.  I know they ship laboratory mice year-round by air.  Have you called FedEx?

I wish. :(. I currently am uninsured and have no current doctor. On top of it he was being shipped to me so he was flying alone. I am stuck at either waiting until march/april when it warms up (which i don't think I could mentally take) or trying to find transports. :/. Thank you though! I appreciate it!

Hi Katie, could you get your physician to write a note stating that your condition requires a service dog for travel? A service dog can fly in cabin. Here's a link that may help you.
