This morning was Dexter's first crate experience with both my boyfriend and I not at home with him. I wanted to make sure he would be fine alone for the afternoon, and so I put his KONG in the cage with him, his Bully Stick, some other favorite chews and toys, and then went to grab his noisy duck plushy from the den. He followed me and gave me an odd look when I picked it up. I took it to the bedroom and set it in his crate. Immediately he darted inside, grabbed the duck and ran back to the den where he then placed the duck back where he had originally left it- in front of the TV.

Apparently I don't know where the toys belong.

How funny, apparently duck likes to watch tv when you are gone. I always try to put Ella's toys on her rug by the door at night, so we don't trip on them. Unfortunately for me that is not always "where they go". Ella likes to hide her tennis balls in the corners of the house, the rope goes by the couch, her kong thing goes by our bed, etc. So they are usually not on the rug.

^^ Of course, thanks for the advice. Normally he gets his KONG, the duck - which is made of canvas - and the bully stick which is rock hard and doesn't splinter or fray.

You should be careful when putting toys in the crate with him when you aren't there to supervise.....don't put anything with him he could destroy easily and possibly swallow.

^^ Aw! I guess I got lucky, he is super picky about where his things go. When we first brought him home he wouldn't take his toys out of his crate. O__o;;; He is neater than I am, that is for sure!

Harry does that..every morning before I go to work I pick up all his toys and put them in his bed except for the 2 I put in his crate with him.

When I go back into the kitchen to grab my bags, I come back out and the toys are all over the floor again each in a certain spot. On the days when I happen to put the wrong toy in his crate with him, he quickly lets me know and switches to the correct ones. These little guys are super smart!

Ha Ha I wished mine would put their toys back! The favorite game at my house is to take them all out the toy box and then not play with them! Its like their trying to decorate the floor
