Since Baron is my first Corgi I don't know if this is normal or if he picked it up from "Mom". Baron is extremely OCD, we moved the furniture around and he stood and barked until it was put back where it "belonged" . He also "patrols" the yard looking for stray items to bark at...watering cans, firewood logs on boulder wall, etc.

It can be a huge benefit as long as you channel it correctly and don't let them go overboard. It extends to not only changes they see but things they hear. Brodie and Kadi are both good at letting us know when there is something outside (critter) that doesn't belong there. Living on a farm that makes it up to us to let them know if it's an ok change or an invader. Sometimes it just a bug, other times it's an armadillo or rattlesnake.
Thanks for the input. At least I know it's a Corgi thing. I like the "It's Okay" "Thank you"
My Lilli would even get in a tizzy if I hung a new picture on the wall. Way up high. But she's outgrown most of that silliness now. Maybe she's just more familiar with the world now, and can tell when a change is important, and therefore bark-worthy, and when the change is acceptable.
Seriously, my alert barker has learned what "I see it, it's ok" means and it really works. The way I see it, he is doing his job by telling me something is out of place. Makes for an exceptional watch dog, too. And they learn to look for you when there is any sign of trouble.
Corgis were also bred to keep varmints out of the garden so a hyper alertness to changes is not uncommon. I would tell him to "get over it" :)
