Our Bella's Sick.

In the two years we've had our little Corgi, we've learned all about her sensitive tummy and the 'Mudd Butt' that generally comes with it. We've handled it with easy, taking her to the vet when she needs it, stuffing her with rice and broth, forcing Pepto Bismal down her throat, knowing how little I like doing that to myself. But now it seems something has hit her that we can't solve with 5ml of pepto.

When we got home from visiting my family in Eastern Oregon, we both noticed that Bella was a little peckish acting. Mike also noticed, much to his irritation, that at some point in the six hour drive home, she had thrown up on his pillow. This is pretty unusually since she's a really good traveler. Her laziness throughout the evening was chalked up to the long weekend and her chance to play with other dogs. Her mudd butt returned that evening, but like I said, we were used to it. However, all day today, she refused to come out of her kennel, even when I got home from work, she never greeted me.

We called our vet and took her in for an emergency appointment. Thank goodness for good vets. Dr. Brown looked her over and found her to have a very high fever. There were no parasites in her poo, so they're not sure what's going on. We have to take her in tomorrow morning so they can observe her all day.

I feel so bad for her. Our normally crazy, energetic little girl is so out of it. She's got her ears set at half mast. Keep her in your thoughts! Hopefully we'll know more tomorrow!

I will be thinking of Bella and hope that Dr. Brown finds out what's going on tomorrow so he can quickly start treatment and she start trotting down that road to recovery. Post again when you can so we know how she's doing...take care...
