Peaches MIGHT have eaten a penny last night.

I am so worried! I know that the ones minted after 1987 have zinc in them and can kill a puppy if they aren't diagnosed. We found another penny sitting on the dog bed, and I don't know where it came from - were there more? I don't know.

I keep checking her gums and they are light pink, not white. No throwing up or lethargy. She's peeing and pooping okay. She is rambunctuous enough so I'm watching her closely. I do have to go to work, but I'll be home by 2:00. OH, this is awful! I don't have the money for the vet if she needs surgery..not to mention that it's my birthday. What the heck?

I'll check back in here tonight.

Oh my goodness! How is Peaches? The other day my Abby grabbed a Laughing Cow metal wrapper for the cheese off the coffee table and down it went! It was out the next day! Please keep us posted how she is :-)

My heart goes out to you at this time of worry! Seems like I'm always having to worry what Cooper has gotten into!. I recently went to our Vet's office open house where they had an xray up to show a film of a pupppy who had swallowed a complete wedding ring set! We're talking a large diamond & diamond band. Can you believe it passed just fine! Not sure what the owner thought have having it back just that way...but it is amazing what they can pass through. Chances are good if it goes in...it can come out! Sam's right if you catch them within a short time inducing vomiting is a way to go. Perhaps calling your vet to ask about maybe taking an x-ray. Feeding soft food to help pass through too! Good luck! You'll in my prayers and please keep us posted!

You can call your vet to ask their opinion. They do not usually charge a fee to talk to you on the phone.

If she swallowed within 2 hrs, you can induce vomiting by giving her 3cc of 3% hydrogen peroxide.
