I had signed ruger up for the petsmart training classes they were suppose to start march 31 at 6:15pm for an hour every thursday for six weeks and we payed 110 dollars to sign him up for them we went to petsmart today the day befor classes are suppose to start and the trainer came up to me and told me that we were the only people who signed up for the class and that we would have to wait for the next class which would be april 20 well i didnt want to wait for a couple reasons one ruger well be 12 week or 13 weeks by april 20 and i want to start training asap second im suppose to be going to school soon for either pet obedience instructor trainer or a vet assistant so i thought by attending these classes it would give me hands on experiance and see if it is somethingi would really enjoy doing we had called a couple diffrent classes but choose petsmart cause we know everyone there and like them but we dont want to wait for april 20 so i called some other local trainers and found another one who seems really good she told me that ruger had to have is second set of shots and i told her were getting them april 11 she told me i would have to call my vet and get permission from him to start classes before is second set of shots which my vet said was fine cause he is up to date and healthy so our new classes start next tuesday april 5 at 6:30 to 7:30 every tuesday for six weeks and only costed 60 dollars instead of 110 so that was also a bounis i will let you guys know how classes are when we start and i hope ruger does good we have been working with him on some training befor he starts classes i have been reading up on everything dog which by the way best magazine ever is natural dog it is a great magazine about using natural products and care on your dog it is a great magazine i suggest it to everyone

Glad you found a class! I many times suggest that people look up AKC clubs in their areas. We have one that most of my dogs have gone to and the cost is about the same as pet store. What I like about these are you are training with trainers that actually do obediance and agility with their own dogs. They also have puppy classes here which is a meet and greet and playtime for pups to get used to other dogs.

I was reading on Petsmart about a one-on-one training option.  I never called to ask about it but was wondering if you did when you were checking Petsmart out.  I don't have time (or the gas money) to do a regular session every week as it is farther away than I want to drive, but would like to learn how to work with Scout on some specific things.  If you have any information, I would like to know.  And have fun training your Ruger!

Thanks, Emily
