Preparing for Sydney's arrival

Three days from now I will be bringing my little Sydney home. It hardly seems real. For months I have been talking about her and looking at her pictures and videos endlessly. After all of this time it almost feels like I've been familiarizing myself with the idea of her, and once she arrives it will be another world.

Everything seems to be in order. Area rugs are up and stored, all small bits and wires have been secured and nothing chewable is at puppy height. Syd's crate is set up next to my bed and there are new blankets around the house just for her. Today's trip to Meat for some raw food was the last thing on my list.

There's no shortage of toys or treats, either:

I'm looking forward to Tuesday when my brain finally shifts from over-thinking everything to just spending time with Sydney and feeling the corgi love!

John, I have the tennis balls in the garage and have been keeping my eyes out for a larger ball that's not as heavy as a soccer ball. The really nice woman at Meat suggested getting Sydney adjusted to the raw food prior to introducing the meaty bones.

Comment by John Wolff on November 28, 2009 at 11:16pm: I'm not seeing a few pieces of eventually essential gear: dirty tennis ball, old soccer ball. Actually, if you can get something lighter than a soccer ball, that's better. I needs to be a minimum size and turgidity to keep teeth out. Best I've found is an old water polo ball. But they can wait.
We also get these big beef bones at the pet store.
