So now several days -- a whole bunch of days -- have passed without ANY puddles on the floor! It's a miracle.

Presumably Ruby's UTI has cleared up pretty much. She's still on the prescription diet, so not getting (IMHO) the nutrition one would like, but I think when we finish the current crateful of cans, we'll probably transition over to real food. Still adding 1/4 cup of water to each of her three meals a day, which may also be helping. And I expect I'll keep on doing that permanently. In fact, I've started adding a little water to Cassie's food, too.

It's starting to get warm here now -- around 109 today. Even though the doggywalks take place early in the morning while it's still fairly cool, the air is extremely dry, so I expect the extra water can't harm them.

Ruby has decided she should become a watchdog. The neighbor's delinquent daughter (meth-head; high-school dropout) attracts creepy men like flies. They come and go at all hours of the day and night, and lately she's had several of them staying there all night. Cassie will bark at them occasionally, if she hears them clowning around outside. But this evening Ruby has flown into three separate frenzies, fiercely charging the front door and insisting that the demonic forces are at the gates.

None of the kids are on the property -- they'd set off security lights if they were. But every time she throws a barkfest, we need to get up and check.

Right now (shortly after midnight) both dogs are wide awake and charging around after Ball and after each other, which means it'll be awhile before they settle down. So it looks like Pup will be going into her crate tonight instead of on the bed, where she'll try to continue the games. Oh well. I'm glad she's feeling well enough to party into the night!
