Dexter has been doing great! He finally got to meet my parents a couple of weeks ago when they came down to visit. They aren't dog people, but they immediately fell in love with him. After all, what's not to love?
Dexter has been doing great as far as training. He was completely potty trained after 5 months. He chewed his first pair of Nine West pumps a month ago, but it wasn't his fault. I left him alone in the "center room" - a room we gate off for him to chill in while we are gone - and he was probably bored. He is fiend of Nylabones (the bacon kind) and is enjoying his walks every night now that the weather is Corgi-tolerable. (Yay for no humidity!) His coat is getting so thick! I finally got him a Furminator and use it twice a week to try and knock out the undercoat shed. It is amazing the difference after he is brushed. Despite this he is still shedding as any respectable Corgi does. It is blatantly obvious that he rides in my car (my poor Mini...) but that is what the new Shop Vac is for!
For Halloween we dressed him up like a Harley Davidson biker as a tribute to my boyfriend's biker parents and walked him through the neighborhood. He wore his "Doggles" in the car over to Pet Smart where he got a new chew toy and charmed the pants off of a lady with a Boxer pup.
Dexter is also pro at getting his nails grinded and enjoys visiting the girls at the Bow-tique.
Down side is he has realized his chompers are good for chewing things other than my shoes. He chewed through a leash once, completely destroys his rope tug toys and ate half of his costume bandanna before I even noticed. He also has a habit of darting towards cars that pass by when we go for walks at night. He is on a leash of course, but I am concerned about him getting loose and deciding he should try throwing himself in front of a moving vehicle. It is definitely something we have to bring up to the trainer.
^_____^ Happy Belated Halloween!
