How on earth does she DO that?
This little dog can lay down a puddle without ever being in the vicinity of the puddle! Don't believe me, do ya? It's trooooo!
LOL! Admittedly, even though she was locked up with me and Cassie in the office, I got distracted trying to register the ISBN and copyright for a new book. The Copyright Office, in particular, has an especially noxious form. Filled in my name and address three times in three widely separated places in the same form.
Really. How hard is it to ask for the name of the person filling out the form; then have question 2) "Is this the name and address of the copyright holder; yes/no? If no, enter the name and address of the person or entity that will hold the copyright"; then follow that with question 3) "Should the notice of copyright issuance be sent to the person filling out this form; yes/no? If no, enter the name and address of the person or entity that should receive notice." All in one place; check this box if all three are the same.
So, this would explain the pool by the door. But the question is, how did she manage to unload another one in the living room...on the other side of the door?
:-D
She's still so tiny that there's not much room inside that little body. And she's just 9 weeks old.
Amazingly, though, she's SORT OF beginning to get the idea. This morning she actually went to the door to go out. So there's hope: someday my floors may no longer be puppy diapers.
Heee!
This little dog loves grass. Of course, my yards are desert-landscaped. But some of the more affluent neighbors, those who can afford the water bills, still have lovely green grass. The stuff is such a thrill to her...she bounds into it and wallows and wallows around in it. So cute!
She walks right along with Cassie, which is really weird. Never lunges around, never zig-zags or tries to wind up the maypole -- i.e., the human's legs.
Cassie is a great deal more mellow with this puppy than she was with Charley the Golden Retriever. Possibly because at nine weeks Charley was as big as Cassie. Maggie/Ruby/Rosie/WhateverSheTurnsOutToBe comes about to the top of Cassie's front legs -- she's about a fifth the size of Cassie.
Most amazing, Pup has raided Cassie's dinner dish...and LIVED! It looks like I'll have to keep them apart to be sure Cassie gets enough to eat, not to be sure Pup survives to eat another day.
She jumps on Cassie. She grabs her fur. She steals her toys. Nothing happens to her.
Yet.

She is just adorable! Wonderful that she has some idea about going to the door. It will be a while but she is on the right track. I'm sure you are on the right track that she is so much smaller than Cassie and Cassie realizes that is so young yet where the Golden was physically bigger and Cassie probably saw her more as a rival than a puppy. The day will come when she lets Pup know who is the boss and begins to be less tolerant of the puppy behavior. Can't wait to hear what name you choose.
