Gromit’s Great-Aunt Mistletoe, litter mate to my first Corgi pals Watson & Tinsel, is finally gone at age 13. Degenerative Myelopothy (DM) won as it always does.
Missy lasted about 2 years with DM. Her owners, Liz and Joe, put a lot of work into her therapy and I think it must have paid off with many extra months of loving them and being loved.
Missy was Liz’s hearing assistance dog and had a great career, she and Liz did a lot of demonstration and training work with other hearing assistance dogs who were just getting started. Even when beleaguered with the effects of DM and no longer required to "work" Missy would do her best to aid Liz.
