I have always loved getting stuff in the mail since I was a kid, so ordering stuff online is just terribly fun and exciting for me. I am not much one for cruising stores just to "shop"... I usually only go when I have something specific to get and am in and out as fast as possible.

Since we got Matt, we needed to get all sorts of doggy accouterments. I also needed some walking shoes, since I am also not a shoe person and all I have are some flipflops for around the house and a pair of ballet flats that don't fit me well enough for pounding pavement (I have wide feet so this whole "ballet flat" fashion that's been going on for 2 years has make it impossible for me to find decent shoes, and no one around here carries any wide width shoes EVER!)

I've been making a list for a few days and finally got on Amazon to place a big order. I needed to get FitFlops anyway, which I found out about on here, but my local Macy's didn't have any decent looking ones in my size. So besides FitFlops for me, I'm getting Matt a life jacket, some Furminator waterless shampoo, lavender pet cologne to keep him smelling nice, some dog sunblock for the pink skin peeking out under his white muzzle fur, a pound of small moist treats that'll be great for training, and something called a Bow Wow Bag for taking on our walks to hold bags, paper towels and other stuff.

I can't wait for it all to arrive. It's hard to train him without any good treats around... I still need to find my clicker though. Also the sunscreen and Bow Wow Bag will do wonders for our walks... I can free up my hands and pockets and take him out whenever without worrying about his nose/muzzle getting sunburned.

What I'm most anxious about is the life jacket though. I sooo want to take him swimming in the pool but I want to wait for his life jacket (and sunscreen) to get here just in case. He hasn't swum before from what we were told, although he's been to the beach often. We have an on-ground salt water pool with a chlorine generator, so there are no chemicals in the pool to bother him and he can't fall in.

Maybe I should fill up the 3 ring kiddie pool I have and see if he likes that while we wait for the life vest to arrive. I sure hope so because I *love* my swimming pool but hate swimming alone. It would be so fun to have him paddling around with me or playing fetch with some of his more floaty toys in the water!

Yeah, I thought online shopping was cool too, until Gwynnie got my VISA card number...

Oh I hope you puppy likes water!!! Mine don't particularly care for it. What a fun shopping experience with plans for all the goodies, good luck with the training. Do you think a POUND of treats will be enough??? lol

Randy loves our little pool..Leo not so much but they will both jump in to cool off. It is just a wading pool for toddlers, perfect for Corgis.

hey,
My dog loves swimming! As to the three ring pool, I think that would be a great first start. Loki has one set up for him at my workplace. When it gets too hot, he has a tendency to lead me to it and he jumps right in. Good luck on the first water try.

HI Jennifer...I have wide feet too. For walking shoes I get New Balance, which come in wide. For walking sandals, I get men's shoes in a size and a half smaller than what I wear in womens...and it's easy to find the smaller men's sizes on the clearance rack. I found Keen brand sandals at Nordstrom's Rack, normally $95 shoes for less than $30. Have fun shopping!
