So we took Tigger to his first socialization class. He. HATED it. he was terrified of the other dogs. He kept hiding behind my legs and trying to get onto my lap. I felt like a horrible person putting him through that but everyone there says that in a couple of weeks he'll get better and actualy play with the other dogs so at this point we're going to go back. Hopefully it will be better. Any one else had a simliar experience with your puppy?

other then that he's doing well. Potty training is coming along slowly but surely....lol. He's definately becoming more active and sleeping a little less.

Ethel was always torn when meeting new dogs as a puppy -- she wanted to play, but they scared her. She'd roll onto her back and squeal like she was under attack. But we kept at it, meeting dogs and people, and now she loves everyone and doesn't think twice about greeting them. Just age and experience, I think. Good luck with Tigger (great name!), I'm sure he'll warm to the others. Definitely keep going back and give him lots of praise when he sticks his little nose out to investigate the others!

My Aussie was the same way when he was little. He was pretty overwhelemed by all of the dogs in puppy kindergarten. But by the end of the 8 weeks he was taking on the Great Dane puppy! They seem to adjust pretty fast as long as they think you're okay with it. Tigger is lucky to have such a caring owner. Good luck!
