Why won't LO go outside by himself. Is it something we did when he was younger. I can leave to door open and he "may" step outside but come straight in unless I go out there with him. I have to say "poo poo" or "pee pee" the neigbors must laugh everytime they hear me.

WOW, just now the back door is open and LO IS outside and I saw him pee, hmm though he did come running back in straight away. I guess the urge to pee was just to great for him. Little wins are the best.

Lilly is the same way! At night it is the worst, I have to go out with her!  She is such a diva!

 Correction

"leave THE door open"

Franklin too! I once left him for about 10 hours with the door open in my last apartment and he would not go outside!! I came home and he ran out there like he'd been holding it for soooooooooo long! I even put in a doggie door at my new place and he'll go out and sniff around and lay in the sun but will NEVER go potty unless I tell him to. Pretty annoying when I have to work or be in school long days and have to actually hire someone or beg a friend to let him out even though he has access to outside when i'm gone!

i have the same problem with teddy. i HAVE to be out there with him or he will not go. even if it has been hours since he last went. he will just go into the middle of the yard and stare at the house until i come out and as soon as i do he goes
