Soon to be Corgi Owner!! (Hopefully!)

So, I'm probably going to be getting one between now and xmas.

1. I need help picking out some names for a boy or girl corgi (I was thinking maybe and Irish or polish name )

2. Is there anything I need to know about corgis?

3. I also have two other dogs, how am I going to introduce the new puppy?

I think naming them is the hardest part. I knew that I was going to call mine Duncan, right from the start, just wanted that name. You may want to wait a day or two before naming them, and come up with one that would fit their personality. If I had waited, my corgi would have been Sherman instead. He runs through everything like a little Sherman tank.

Have a furminator for brushing the coat and a good sweeper for cleaning up, They are notorious for their shedding. They are smart, clowns in a fur suit and most have a appetite that would put King Kong to shame, so you have to watch out about them getting fat. They think they are the boss and will try and put you to the test, so obedience classes are highly recommended.

As for other dogs, I had Duncan before I got Chloe, and both were adult dogs at the time. They got along fine, so I can't suggest what to do with a puppy.

2. They shed a ton, get yourself a lintroller for every room and a furminator ;) Also, be prepared to have to stand up to them, otherwise they'll boss you around. They're definitely a stubborn breed, they know what they want and they expect to get it, haha. Like Sarah, said, prepare the camera for ridiculous sleeping positions and for everything else: they're always smiling! Most photogenic dogs EVER! Also, they're super smart! So you may want a fun training book to teach them some neat tricks, or you can look up tricks online

3. I got my pups only a month apart so I don't have experience with introducing a puppy to adults :( sorry

For number 2.
They sleep on their backs a lot. Prepare the camera.

1. My dad has a parrot named Stashu, which is a Polish version of the name Stanley. It has variations: Stoshu, Stash, Stashu, and Stoshy.

2. They are smart and perky little jokesters. They shed. A lot.

3. This site is a great resource for information. The FAQ at the top has links to probably every question you might have.

Congratulations! First...what are your other dogs like, do they like other dogs? She/he will need a place to call it's own. I would suggest an exercise fence and a crate. The pup will need a quite place for naps and to get away as it has been my experience that they won't get their rest if always with the older dogs and it will need a place to call it's own. You can go online and look up names/meanings and find some you like...I have renamed mine after picking a name I thought I wanted so you might want to have a few and wait till you get the pup to see which name fits! You can also get a corgi book or look online for specifics and also we're here to awnser questions!
