So I am very happy to report she has stopped using the potty in her crate and the jumbo crate she gets to stay in should I have to take Milo to work with me. Freya's crate is a little more manageable for me to carry than the huge one we got for Milo. But in some way, mine is better constructed than Milo's.

Since having to quarantine Freya, which I loathe and wish the vet would let me spay her right when I asked...we have had some improvements. I know about when she needs to go to the potty after eating her meals. If I am unable to take her out right away she will poop and pee in the hallway. Thankfully, that is all laminate so it isn't really staining anything at least. However, if I keep calling her into the kitchen (as there is an excellent chance I'm cooking) she won't potty until I take her out. So I have to have her constantly in view lest she uses the bathroom in the house.

I've been super praising her for every time she goes potty when we walk. Sadly, I ran out of treats but I think she's starting to get it again. Unfortunately, she isn't using the bathroom in the backyard as she would if she were using the dog door so I'm hoping these improvements don't go away once she is able to use the doggie door again.

She's been hormonal, I guess, as she randomly started to growl at Milo. The stupid thing is, there wasn't any kind of food that she was protecting, she just started going crazy and then she was over it like nothing ever happened. She has also been barking like crazy when we go outside--sometimes missing her mark completely. Half the time there isn't anything there or it's a trash can or something of that nature.

Well, last night, we were playing fetch. She was having a great time and suddenly she stopped and started barking like crazy. She ran over to the door and barked and barked. Boyfriend got up and checked to see if there was something there and nothing was out there. By that point Cloud was barking in the backyard. Finally, I got up and latched Freya's leash to go see if there was a cat nearby or something. Turned out she was alerting me to go potty--I think. At any rate, she pottied outside and wanted to immediately return to playing fetch.

At any rate, as soon as her silent heat is done, she's going to get spayed. I hate having to keep everyone separated. There are some pluses to separating and a lot of minuses for me.
