On Saturday I picked Rowan up at 11am. It was just he and I on the 45 minute drive home. He spent 20 minutes of it making the most ear shattering racket my ears had yet been blessed to hear. After finally falling asleep he allowed me to snap some crooked cellphone pictures of him. Yes, while driving, and all the more unsafe thanks to my touch phone but the only thing we might have hit was a wall of snow or a cow-cicle, well..Maybe just a cow since it was a steamy 23 degrees out! HEAT WAVE!!!
At last we arrived home, and greatly enjoyed making introductions, before heading out to the backyard where my husband has carved a labyrinth out with a snow blower so that the other more finicky dogs can run the fence line and not have to tromp through deep snow. Rowan has already taken to climbing up the embankments of this snow maze to tunnel through the powdery stuff on top! Once back inside it was time to explore and play before meeting the other dogs, who each reacted the exact opposite of what we had anticipated. However it's clear already that any frosty reception from them is short lived.
Not an accident was had until Dad was in charge!!! We aren't going to let him live that one down. :P
Today was even more fun that Saturday, he slept less and kept me almost too busy to get anything done, that's alright though.
The biggest worries so far have been minor: telling our little man "Don't be a hero!" and snatching him before he takes a superman leap off of this or that and remembering to cover our ears once bedtime comes and someone believes he's being made live sacrifice to the evil crate monster. For now, all is quiet until it's time to brave the frozen tundra with a midnight potty trip!! DAD!
