Does anyone have any suggestions how to keep your Corgi calm during a thunder storm. Since Muffet has Addison's disease (she shouldn't get stressed), I get more worried than she does!!! I tried the Kong with peanut butter...a loud TV...rubbing her ears and whispering to her to calm her down...and finally just letting her run the house and bark...I don't think she is afraid. I had a dog that was terrorized by storms and hid in the shower stall...Muffett wants to run outside and bite the rain!
Any suggestions would be appreciated...

Cats might fall into the same category as brooms, vacuums and wind shield wipers. Monitoring the neighbors cats top Minnie's list of good reasons to wake from her nippy naps. :)Give your cat my sympathy!

Do Corgi's have a thing against CATS? Do they want to herd them? Muffett is always chasing them, she does not let them alone for a minute. She has to know where they are every second.

Good tips... I have the Kong that I use with peanut butter during thunder storms to keep her distracted. I'll try freezing it. Funny thing...I have a photo of Muffet exactly like the one you posted of your pup!! ALSO... Her previous person was Gina (my aunt).

John... you really made me laugh...I was worried for nothing. I actually took Muffett to a dog "communicator" to see if she was angry with me for withholding food!! I could have saved myself so much trouble if I talked to you first! Thanks.

If you have to limit the treats, try freezing them. It makes them last a lot longer. You could also use different kibble for treats and adjust meal time food accordingly. Or...if your up for a new purchase, I just posted my findings regarding the Occupi, which is a lot like the Kong but better in my opinion because it has holes. Even if you just smear the inside with a teeny tiny bit of yogurt, peanut butter, etc, and then freeze it - they will spend a great deal of licking time on it. There are also tons more ideas from members, found in the overweight corgi group and corgi health section of this website. Good luck! Our old girl "Minnie", is always just a lb away from being "Maxi".:)

"Corgi" is Welsh for "hungry".
