With Kahlan being 4 months I thought that it was about time she checked out the dog park. So we picked up Aspen my 'pocket' Siberian Husky and headed over. I was sort of nervous about her meeting other dogs but Aspen loves everyone. And of course Aspen dove in sniffing and getting to know her new sister. To my surprise Kahlan was not shy and all over Aspen. I wish I snapped a shot of it but it was so funny and cute. Aspen was in the back seat and Kahlan in the front seat facing backwards licking the hell out of Aspen's muzzle and kept putting her paws up on Aspen's eyes almost in a peekaboo manor. Aspen got tired of this after several minutes and started growling a warning. Whoa Kahlan you should chill and knock that off I've never seen Aspen get like that ever. Maybe she just was not digging the hyper sugar coated young pup face pawing. lol. Anyway at the dog park she was freaked out at first. To many big dogs that she did not know all sniffing her. You could tell that she was overwhelmed with this new experience. Funny thing was it was only like 2 or 3 other dogs at the park as we picked a time that was going to be less busy to give her the best intro to the dog park. Of course Aspen can't wait to get into the park and run and sniff and play with all the dogs. Kahlan spent most of the time fallowing either me and John around or Aspen. Towards the end she ventured away and started fallowing Aspen out into the middle of the park away from us humans and just running around having fun. Afterwards on the way home she crashed for a nap. I look forward to taking her back this week.

Just today she met the neighbor's 4 (?) year old daughter. I took her out to go potty and I hear the neighbor's daughter going ape-sh*t in the apartment next door. I think she saw her through their window. I was sort of worried about this meeting since Kahlan is the most uber nipper that I have ever been around. The more excited she is the more she nip plays and when you pull back and/or cry out she thinks it is part of the game and dives back in nipping away. I've tried to break her of this habit but it is slow going at best right now. Ugh. Anyway the lil girl comes out and comes over to Kahlan and starts petting her then runs back in calling her dad to come see the puppy. Her dad tells her the puppy's name and she comes out going "Kahlan Kahlan Kahlan Kahlan" in a soft voice. She plays around petting her and holding her head and rubbing her all over and at one point Kahlan flips over on her back for a belly rub. Next the lil girl grabs a stick and waves it around making me hope that Kahlan would not start nipping since she was being really gentle with her so far. :) Any who it was a nice interaction and went remarkably well. Always a great thing to have a puppy interact with lots of different people and have it go better then you hope.
