I asked John to get Kahlan a couple of pig ears and she loves them but I read (on these forums I think I can't recall off hand though) that they can make dogs sick and vomit. Also someone mentioned deer antlers as chews. I looked around and read up a lil on them. If what I read is true about lasting around 6 months and not splintering like bones and being low fat then it is worth the higher initial cost and having to buy them online.
What have you all heard about antler chews and pig ears?
Also have any of you other corgi parents had your dogs love chewing boxes and paper? I swear half the time I brought home a giant hamster not a corgi. lol.

I always get the large size from the seller I posted below. I'm not sure what animal they are from but the dogs sure like them!
I did buy a huge ~10" moose antler once but it is almost too big, they seem to have a hard time moving it around to find that perfect chewing position and get bored with it. Plus it's so heavy I stub my toe on it occasionally lol.
This is the seller I usually use on etsy. Super fast shipping and pretty decent prices for good sized antlers.

I've gotten the whole round antlers before and my dogs just weren't as interested. If they can't get to the marrow I think they get frustrated lol. Some of our half antlers we've had for over a year so they still last plenty long with adult dogs.
Bento loves antlers, and we get him the antlers that are cut in half, so he can get to the marrow easier. From what I can tell, the cut ones are meant for puppies. Once they're older, they can move on to the whole ones where they will have to chew through the calcium to get to the marrow.
My husband and I love antlers. Unlike other chews, they don't smell.
I've gotten two Elk antler chews off of Amazon with good results. One antler is already gone, as I had Ellie and Yuki arguing over it a lot (and then it began to stink, eww). The second one is still around after two months and they love to gnaw on it. There are some slight gouges at the end they like to chew the most, but other than that it's the same as the day I bought it.
What I like the most is that I don't have to worry about sharp edges. Stepping on a chewed-up nylabone is definitely not a pleasant experience. Of all the toys I have ever brought home for my dogs, the antler has held up the best so far.
As for paper, my Ellie is a master at finding and shredding any sort of tissue product. ;)
I buy antlers on etsy usually. I get ones that are about 8" long and cut in half the long way. They last forever and the dogs love them. The ones I've seen that are specifically marketed for dogs seem really tiny and soft compared to the real thing.
I give mine pig and cow ears and they have never had an issue. I get mine from bestbullysticks.com.

The economy cow ears are the more typical see-through looking ear, and they do smell a bit, but they aren't all disgusting and greasy like the ones at Petco. The ones I have are totally dry to the touch and the dogs love them. They actually last longer than the first ones I posted and they're pretty cheap too.
I also like to buy the Merrick brand pig ears which are absolutely enormous, but it seems bestbullysticks doesn't have them any longer which kind of irritates me lol. They are like 3x the price at the local store.
