Days are getting better (or maybe I am just getting used to having a dog) but either way, everything is getting better.

On our quick walks around the block (first thing in the morning and when I get home from work) Poppy is slightly freaking out when we walk along one side of the block as they are doing some light construction and the noise and trucks scare her a lot, but I keep walking past it, trying to get her used to the sounds. Not working as well as I'd hope, but I am going to keep at it.

While the Thundershirt worked FANTASTIC when I put her in her crate and took a shower, it doesn't work quiet as well during the day when I am not in my apartment. I tried putting her in her crate after lunch, but she just screamed her head off, so I went back and put her in her pen as there wasn't any difference. So different then last week! Last night was our best night ever when I got ready for bed as I didn't hear a peep out of her. I got ready for our walk and as soon as I let her out of the crate and leashed her up, we left my apartment. I think she was about to pee in the hall, but I rushed her outside so she could do her business there and it worked well. I just have to keep a very close eye on her after taking off the Thundershirt.

This morning, more of the same. Crying and barking when I gave her Rescue Remedy and put her in her Thundershirt and left my apartment. She was sort of okay when I was still there, just some light whining, but it went full scale once I left. Oy. I really need to video her one day, so I can see how long it lasts and what happens.

Hopefully my calming treats arrive today so I can try those out as the Rescue Remedy only seems to work sometimes. I am going to keep the Thundershirt, it only seems to work while I am in the apartment as this week it seems to work well when I am around, but not in sight. Ask me about it next week, as everything seems to change weekly. Agh.
