Two Missing Corgis in Fountain Inn, SC -- can you help?

MISSING DOGS -- South Carolina

I logged on to my e-mail this morning and saw this message from Corgi Mom/Corgi Grandmom Geannie G., whose family's two Corgis went missing
(TAKEN) from the yard of her home in Fountain Inn, South Carolina. It
is a rural area and it would have been very un-like the dogs to take
off on their own.

Trixie is the older female. She's been a family member for a few years and is her Mom's sweetheart. Trixie was close to going into heat. She's
microchipped and had on a red collar with tags.

Four year-old Yogi Boo is a hefty little guy at 35 pounds (of love). He's also microchipped and had on an orange collar with tags. Yogi Boo was
rescued last year.

Both dogs disappeared from the family home on Dove Lane, Ft. Inn (Knighton Chapel area), South Carolina on April 27th, 2010.

Can YOU suggest anything the family can do to make the return of their dogs more likely, or do you have any information about them?

Please contact Geannie at 864-684-5725 or 864-876-0089 if you can help.

THANK YOU!

*** UPDATE: 10 pm EST, Thursday April 29th: TRIXIE and YOGI BOO are HOME!!***

Geannie G. just let me know that they were found in a town ten miles away. The kind person who found them left a note in her mailbox.

THANK YOU EVERYBODY for your SUPPORT, ADVICE and PRAYERS! It meant a lot to Geannie, and to me that you all pitched in during a fellow Corgi person's hour of crisis.

What a wonderful outcome -- it's Celebration Time!!!

Geri,
Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure who or where Geannie was....
I'm glad they're home safe and sound. If you hear anything else, please pass it on.
Thanks!
Karen

Here is a post from the Daily Corgi from Geannie:

"Thank you all for the support, prayers and suggestions. We are so happy
our fur babies are home again. Long story, in a nutshell the thieves
dropped them, nice people picked them up and tracked me down through the
AKC tag and number on Trixie's collar. God is good, and so are all of
you. Thank you again and a special BIG thanks to Laurie."

and later:
"Even though they were a little stinky, it was wonderful to have Trixie sleeping on my feet last night, and sneaking up to claim a pillow in the wee hours. Boo Boo was an inside dog last night too, although he much prefers being outside. The full nights sleep was wonderful for my daughter and me as well"

Hooray for happy endings!

Hi Karen,
AS far as I know, Geannie is not a member of Mycorgi, so she can't respond to questions here. If any more is posted on the Daily COrgi, I'll post them here. :)

Geannie, I would contact all the local shelters, rescue groups, breeders, etc. and let them know about the dogs. Also, check with all your neighbors and businesses in the area. Have you heard of anyone else's dogs taking missing? There are links on the national corgi website for rescue groups in many different states, so I would definitely contact all of them and put them on alert. The same with posting on Craig's list and any other place like that. If you can get a local paper or news channel to do a brief spot on it, I'd do that too. Have you filed a report with the police? My thoughts and prayers are with you!

"From Geannie G., Mom to the missing SC Corgis: "Thank you to anyone that can get the word out about my missing babies. I do believe they were taken to be sold for profit, so as many states I can get my plea in, the better the chances are of getting them back. I have spent the last 2 night consoling my sobbing 12 year old daughter who is devastated that her dog is gone. Its heart wrenching. I don't understand how people can be so mean. And I can't imagine what my fur babies must be thinking or how scared they must be. Bless you all for helping." "

findtoto.com. It costs money but I got a call the day I registered and I found Pooh. Unfortunately, he wasn't alive but at least I had closure and could bury him at home. I hope this helps... I know what it's like to be missing one of the most important things in your life.
