He's official!

I'm so proud of my baby boy...he received his official Therapy Dog packet today! I couldn't wait to try his vest on him. He liked wearing it and seemed a little put out when I went to take it off of him.

After 6 weeks of class, 10 supervised visits with my daughter, then 10 supervised visits with me, he's been approved! WooT!

Besides the vest (it's a little big on him, but I think the next size down would be too snug if he grew even a little bit), he gets a "Therapy Dog" collar tag with the organization's phone number, a certificate, and he and my daughter and I each get an ID card that we have to have with us at every visit.

Now we can go on solo visits, and we can work with kids. This dog just makes me sooo happy!

Thank you for the warm welcome! I will post a pic of Seamus The Fluffy Wonder soon. I am an art therapist and am considering seriously having Seamus go thru this training as well, so he can come to the pediatric hospital with me. I'd love the scoop when you have time. Right now, he's just 2 1/2 and still barks too much--at random things. I understand the vacuum, the Cuisinart, the pencil sharpener...but...brooms? Really? He even barks at the cabinet where the Cuisinart is kept if I reach to open it. What a nut...but a lovable one.
