If you've been following me on Twitter, you already know I had an eventful week. Here's the beginning incase you missed it.

Emmett came to me at only 19 lbs, I had a difficult time getting him to eat last week, I've tried broth / chicken / peanut butter / fries / wet food / dry food ...etc. He did not want any of it. He was lethargic, hid under the sofa and slept most of the time. He had a rough week, was neutered, treated for fleas, dewormed, coughing. We visited the vet and found out that he had a respiratory infection, and a skin infection (redness on belly). The vet removed a scrape from his scrotum and said he practically licked it raw while at the shelter :( Due to the cough, he had to be quarantine from my pack.

It's been quite a challenge to give him Rx because he did not want to eat. One night I ordered pizza (for myself) and just for experimentation sake I gave him a corner, he was interested in the cheese but quickly spat it out, so I went to the fridge and got him some parmesan, he ate 2 cubes and called it quit.

For the past 2 days he's gotten better and better, he no longer hide from us or sleep under the sofa, he has transitioned from junk food to a proper diet and started eating dry kibble this morning. He now walks in confidence, hanging side by side with my pack, when I come home, I see excitement in his eyes and he greets me with a smile.

So tomorrow I will be doing a house visit with his potential family, if everything goes well and Emmett continues to shine, he will be ready to go to his forever home :)

Here's a picture of him smiling for the first time

It must have been so hard for you when he would not eat. Hooray for pizza! I'm glad to see him smiling!
