Hello everyone,

Well we have completed the first week of having Rowdy home. He has been pretty easy to handle so far except for getting the timing down of going outside. However on the wonderful side that he has no problem in holding it when we are in the car and then whine a little bit to let us know that he is ready to go. He has truely been a great puppy so far and man he has blown both my wife and I away with how obedient he is. What I mean is that when we take him outside to our unfenced back yard by himself, we can take him out with or without his leash. He really listens to his name and obeys when its really basic come command. There will be more opportunity to keep it going. We are now kind of starting to train him to do the sit command. He has graspped the idea of going up the stairs and has no problem going up them, however its going down that he has an issue with and he tried going down once and tumbled the way down. Which he was able to walk it off. One thing I did learn also this week was that everything at his height is up for grabs for him to chew on. He had distroyed several cords that were in our bedroom (ie, laptop ac powercord, headphones, cell phone charger and cars valentine pencil.). Also Rowdy had is first outing yesterday where we went to a outlet mall that was about 10 blocks away from our house. Well he was the magnet for attention, which ment that only one or two people for the entire hour and a half or so that we were there did not want to pet him!!!! I was really surprised at how many people wanted to just come up and give him a lot of attention and wanted to know where we got him. Which I was amazed at the different responses that people gave towards him. So that was a recap of his first week at home with us. I will keep you guys posted as to any further developments.

Sounds like he is doing great! So obediant! Wait for the teenage years as we call them. All of that will go out the door...LOL!

Thank you very much. Ever since getting him and even before that Corgis are not just a pet, they are a family and lifestyle. My wife and I have really been blessed with having him, especially he is our first Corgi let alone puppy. He is just such a fast learner and to couple it with how well behaved he is. I almost think he is a miracle puppy. lol.

Congrats on new puppy (I haven't done this earlier :) )
He is still very young, and already listens to commands - what a smart puppy!
Charlie is also an attention magnet - people just love corgis!
One fellow corgi owner once stayed longer at the stop light (nobody was around) to tell me about her corgis - and I had that nice feeling to be a part of a family :)
Hooray to new smart, cute, funny, little dog!
