OK, Here it is and it is another tough one! I had real reservations about stopping here and taking this picture because it wasn't that long ago that the natives of this area would have been serving Bear up on a spit with a nice flat bread. However, the view was worth the risk. It is hard to imagine that just a little over an hour before taking this picture we were out in the desert surrounded by little green men. And then, heading south for a couple of little mountain ranges with lots of snow melt off (even in April) running down the highway and here we are watching for missels shooting off. That bright white area in the background is what Bear is standing in in the first photo in our album and it ain't snow. The last four photos that I have added to Bear's pictures were all taken on the same day. Ain't that the prettiest face that you have ever seen on the Historical Marker picture? Anyway, The answer to this beautiful desert WHERE'S BEAR location is just three little words. Good Luck!!!

If you should "paws" here in Las Cruces, please contact us. Bear would be welcome to come take a break and join in our pack's favorite game of run and chase.

Good Job Desert Corgi Pack!!! It is the Mescalero Apache Reservation. A very beautiful and interesting area. We past through there on our way to Las Cruces. Tammey and I plan on going back when we are not working to explore that area more.

Bear is in my neck of the woods. Desert, rather. White Sands is behind Bear. As for reservations... Possibly the Apache reservation between Ruidoso and Tularosa? The green men part is, of course, Roswell. Did you stop here in Las Cruces on your journey?

Tammey has just scolded me roundly for my use of the term Rug Weavers. And, although, I my Navajo Brothers and Sisters make the most beautiful rugs on earth, I should be, on this day of the death of my families tribal leader Whilma Mankiler's death, more sensitive. She is, as usual, correct and my mouth (or in this case fingers) often out run my brain. Sorry!!!

Hmmmm, Roswell Little Green Men everywhere! Close. Alice, Tammey is going to kill me when she sees that I posted the the pic of her and Bear climbing the sand dune but I am going to deflect the heat to you with the Gray Butt comment.

I think you are somewhere in New Mexico. Roswell, Los Altos. I am not that familiar with the area but it makes sense (in my head at least).
