Working from home with a needy Corgi

I have one of those wonderfully flexible jobs where I work between an office 15 minutes away and my desk at home. When I'm away, Ofelia does great in her crate. She has toys and there and she usually naps. When I'm home, Ofelia gets bored very quickly. She doesn't understand that I'm not ignoring her because I want to but because I have a lot of work to do. So my back is to her most of the day. I try to give her time (and I'll admit I don't get outside with her as often as I can, except for the daily dog park trip), but it's only a few minutes every half hour or hour. She'll lay a few feet away and cry, or she'll be in the other room just sitting there whining. I'll stop what I'm doing and play with her for a little while, but when I sit down at the desk again the whining continues. Does anyone else have the same experience or similar?

Yes, something for her to chew on will DEFINITELY help with this. Corgi's are "natural" chewers. Sir McKellen will sit for hours with a raw hide *always watched so he doesn't choke on it* and one small rawhide will last her puppy teeth quite a while.
I do also agree with ZiskaChilds and I myself am looking at getting another Corgi as a companion for Mac as Asher will probably not be with us much longer.

Thanks for the advice. Ofelia has a rawhide but I limit her time with it because it gives her diarrhea if she chews on it too much. I'm going to look for some puzzle toys for her. When I can afford the time and money that goes into it, I will get her a companion.

I got Caleb a rawhide bone...he LOVES it, and it keeps him occupied for hours so I can work. Maybe try that, or a puzzle toy where they have to roll / play with it to get the treats?

It's obvious, you need another corgi.
