So sorry to hear about Sidney's hip problem. I hope we won't have any problems. Callie runs around like crazy. It would be hard to keep her quiete. Best of wishes for an easy recovery.

Yes! We got Bella before I had read the books (I was a few years late to the party) and when we picked out Eddie the day he was born a friend mentioned - hey, name him Edward! From then on for the 8 weeks we waited for Eddie to grow up and come home, we called him that as a joke and it stuck. He is SO an Eddie. When he's naughty we call him Edward.

The FHO surgery is what our Vet went over with me. It is good to hear that that Sidney still has his smile! I imagine physical therapy will be very important for his recovery! Keep up the good work you two!~

Sophie is my first corgi, I understand hip dysplasia can be common for them. Her first summer I noticed she had the little "bunny hop" when she ran, so I was prepared for the news. The vet went over with me what surgery she would be eligible for (I don't recall what it is called, but it isn't a hip replacement). YES, she is on the Dasuquin chews.

It is so wonderful that Sidney was a good weight and very fit! We will check in on his progress. How is he doing?

Geri and Sidney thank you for the warm welcome! Sophie sure gets a lot of wonderful attention over her tail too! I am so sorry to hear about Sidney - we are sending him our love and healing light during his recovery time.

Sophie has severe dysplasia and will probably be facing surgery one day. Last winter she became very sad and inactive. I took her into to the vet and he did the xrays on her hips. He put her on a doggie anti-inflammatory which began helping her immediately. I give it to her every other day now. She had also gained too much weight 36.5 pounds and our vet wants her down to 25-28. She weighs 32 pounds now, so we are working on it. She feels good most of the time, but she doesn't have the high energy levels of a normal corgi.
