3rd Annual Kite Festival & Dog Fair
The San Antonio Friends of the Parks, an affiliate membership organization of the San Antonio Parks Foundation produces the Annual Kite Festival and Dog Fair, “A Fest of Tails” to celebrate the arrival of spring and family fun in the park. The Third Annual free event takes place Saturday, March 21st, from 10:00am to 3:00pm at McAllister Park, near the Starcrest entrance, and welcomes kite and dog enthusiasts and spectators from near and far. The event will showcase live music, arts and crafts, dogs of all sizes and breeds, and a sky full of kites! Everyone, young and old, is encouraged to bring a blanket and lawn chair to watch the spectacular air show, or favorite kite and participate in the community flying exhibition. Kites will also be available for purchase at the Festival.
While looking up at the sky, don’t forget to look down at the third annual Dog Fair. You won’t want to miss the popular pooch parade with prizes awarded for ‘best dressed dog.’ Be sure to bring your pooch in their favorite costume and enjoy the 1 1/2 acre fenced dog park. Information on pet registration and pet adoption services will be available and pet supply vendors will be on hand.
In case of rain the event will be held Saturday, March 28, same location, same time.
Your right on with your comments on the election and the fact that many in our country do treat this like a foot ball game or a rally. However when you look at historical elections they used to have parades starting at Midnight to gather people, hand out torches and ballots together as one, free food all around it was an entire gathering for a city to go out and vote with representatives from either party and supporters there handing out the beer next to one another.
I do think that there needs to be a bit of fun in all of this especially when so many people aren't voting. However I do believe that there is less "honor" and "gentlemanly" behavior. I'd hate to see a riot break out at something like that.
Hi Cory and Adri, Thank you for your compliments :) If ignoring doesn't work, you can get a little gardening squirt bottle and that should do it. I used the same method in trainning my pups not to bark at the blender and breaking up a fight. Another other method is a mini airhorn, you can get one from walmart and that should catch his attention. Let me know how it goes!
Cute corgi! Mine was born one month before yours! I'm thinking about moving down to harlingen in south texas. Let me know if you decide to have a meet!
Momo was more than a year old by the time I took him to the beach. He got special shots that protect him from the outdoors. You might want to talk to Cody's vet to get more info about those types of shots and when the best time would be to take him to the beach. Have fun!!!
Welcome to the group! Cody is a cutie! I went through Air Force Basic Training back in '82. I almost bought a friend's house there a number of years ago but at that point San Antonio had gotten much too big for me. It no longer had the small town feeling anymore that I had grown to love. The RiverWalk is a great place - love the all candy store.
