I had a lot of older friends recommend alpha rolling my last dog (dominant alpha male rottweiller) which I know would have cost me a few stitches...or an arm. We did nothing but extensive positive training for mutual respect, and he turned into a fine, very obedient dog. Never had to use negative punishment...he would definitely have gone from a "hard, but highly trainable" dog to a dangerous dog. Charlie is such a sweetie by comparison. Stubborn yes, but not hard. : - )

Thanks for the article link on the flip side of the alpha roll. : - ) Flip side...very punny. I liked the section of the article from the dog's viewpoint.

Hi - I don't think Rolo looks like a fluffy to me. Not that I'm an expert by any means - but the ones I've seen have really fluffy hair - not just long hair. My Sadie is 4 months old now and she's just starting to get her collar of longer hair around her neck and "tail feathers" along the backs of her back legs. How old is Rolo in the pictures on your page? He really is adorable. Your Sadie looks like a gentle soul. Is she patient with Rolo? My older dogs Bandit(blue heeler) and Max(Rot cross) tolerate her but would just as well prefer she didn't exist. I'm half tempted (don't tell my husband) to get another corgi this summer so Sadie has someone more her size (and energy level) to play with. Shelby

Thanks for voting for Emmy! We really appreciate it. I'll let you know how we end up doing when it's ended. :-)

Thanks for the positive comments. I too, thought the information was well thought out, that's why I felt it would benefit anyone considering breeding. The person who put this together isn't a breeder but an animal behaviorist student and is very active in the "Behavior and Training" thread in the dogster forums section.

Welcome! The calendars pics are from the members, we had a blast voting last year, it was really hard narrow down 300 pics down to the finals :)

Thanks so much, Tracie! We got the toy at a convention and have another one that looks just like Rolo. I'll try to get some pics of them together. :)

Hi there - Welcome! Your babies are adorable. I see you also have a "mini me" toy that looks just like one of them... I have a similar photo on my page that makes me smile every time I see it. You have two great looking dogs! :-) Tracie

Thanks so much!

Couldn't help but notice the MyCorgi.com calendars. Are these member pups or collected shots from royalty free services? I do custom calendars every year near the holidays and find it strange I've never thought to do my own corgi calendar. What a cool gift idea.

Welcome to My Corgi. Such beautiful kids you have there! Seems like there are alot of creative people on this website. I wonder if there is a corraltion to creative minds and Corgi People. Wait...that wouldn't explain me.
