I fell in love, shortly after we got Blizzard, with Harry P. and Sundays with George. I knew I wouldn't be happy until I had a brindle of my own. I saw a pix of Sooner and something about him in particular just drew me in. I knew he was the brindle for me! =)

Thanks for the welcome. Lance is spectacular! Those eyes...!!! Blizzard's dad is Farpoint's Colour Me Purple and his mom is Coedwig's Queen of the Night. Any connection to Lance? =)

haha thanks! All I gotta say is;
he is one smart pup. He's got quite the personality on him too! One second he wants to be independant and the next minute he wants to be clingy. He HATES when I try and snuggle with him at night, but when it's convenient for him, it has to happen. Or he'll bite and whine. He's such a goober. By chance, do you have any potty training advice? He uses the puppy pads when he's home by himself (when we're all at work and such) but when he knows I'm home and he can't see me, he potty's on the floor and I can't seem to get him to stop 0.o

I already had to put Kip in my room for the day and it's breaking my heart. We both have to learn that there are times when we're gonna be apart, but it sucks! If I was allowed to, I would take the little guy to work with me and everywhere else I went. he's so smart already too! He's only been here going on 4 days and he's already potty trained. 0.0 it's scary kinda. I hope he isn't gonna be smarter than me one day! He's even almost got sit mastered and after 12 hours already knew who his mommy is. He's never been in a crate and he sleeps through the night on my bed with me but knows to go potty on the potty pads. But I gotta get heading to work so i'll let you know how his first day alone went!

I loved reading this story! (The one part about him looking away and giving you the complex — that's a true dog lover response! lol) :D It's funny about the moods, I believe it's part of the breed too. Although I will say it may be more of a blue merle trait; Barnaby our brindle has different moods, but he never sulks and is generally pretty happy lol.

I also related to your breeder story. We talked to so many as well. (Like you, I did the research - ha ha) The breeders we went with for both of our guys were soooo wonderful. In fact, I am convinced the dogs get along so well because our breeders knew Silas and his personality, and matched him with a pup they thought would be best for him (and for the pup). It really turned out well. Especially after reading some stories on this site about fighting dogs, dogs not getting along, or ignoring each other. I'm so happy that's not the case here!

Everytime I see Lance's picture pop up in a discussion I always mean to tell you that he's absolutely adorable. So...finally I acted on it :). He's so cute, I love how different he looks. Kiwi and Orzo send nub wags as well :).

Hey natalie! There really isn't too much to tell about Kip's first day home. We both pretty much slept all day. I took a lot of pics, and I plan on taking a whole bunch more tomorrow when he's more used to his new surroundings. He is smaller than I thought he would be, but he is SO stinking adorable!! And, he's so well-behaved. He's been my little shadow all day and won't let me out of his sight. I took him for a walk when it was dark (the ground is too hot here in the summer for daytime walking) and every time I stopped, he ran over and sat between my legs. I'll keep you posted on his doings as he gets older!

I had to laugh at your description of Lance... Lance and Silas may look like brothers, but they are definitely (by personality) more like cousins! I can tell you just love him to pieces. I checked out his pix on your hubby's page too. :D

Lance sounds like Barnaby our brindle (the happy, momma's boy). Silas — we call him our uber-intelligent, complex dog LOL. He is soooo smart, and also the kind of smart where he wants to do certain things his way. He loves new people and other animals (he'll make any new person feel like a Rock Star), Loves to cuddle (just like Lance) and will still curl up in my lap daily. Loves me but is more a daddy's boy. And last of all, he is moody (!) — and will often pout. lol

I adore them both. I love all animals (we also have 4 rescue cats, who get along with the boys no problem) but I swear there is something special about Cardigans. Four years later, at least once a week I find myself thinking or saying that the decision to get a Cardigan was one of our best decisions ever! :)

How did you decide on a Cardi?
