Thanks for all the great information. That's awful that Dudley needed elbow surgery at such a young age. That's definitely something I worry about. Still, i don't want to keep him too sheltered. I want him to have fun. :)

That's too bad. It's nice that western Washington has several herding facilities. But....it's still a drive for us so not something I can do often either.

Great color saturation in your photos! I like your cardi's brown eyes too. :-)

Wow, I know exactly which Amex building you are talking about. We live no more than 10 minutes from there and drive by it all the time. I actually have 2 soon to be in-laws that also work for Amex. Small World. :)

We are taking a basic obedience class right now so he will know all his basic commands. He knows them now but doesn't always listen when we are out where there are more exciting things to pay attention to.

I will definitely look up a place in the area that does agility training. I looked at the one you mentioned in Tempe but if I could find one closer that might be better. I'll have to search some more.

Our wedding is in March so I think I'll look for classes that begin after that. That's also when his obedience classes will be over. He'll be 6 months old then so maybe he'll be a bit more focused as well. I think he would enjoy it. When he gets a burst of energy and runs around our apartment, he chooses the craziest paths like crazy 8's around two table then in between the objects with the smallest space possible such as between the fireplace and the plant in front of it. He looks like he's running some kind of course and maybe in his silly little mind, he is. :)

How is the agility on their joints? I know Corgis can have some problems with joints so I'm curious if it has any negative effects on them. My fiance had a Pembroke who developed arthritis and joint pain from going up and down stairs for so many years and the Pem his Dad has now blew out his knee just from playing too rough and jumping around. Have you experienced any problems?

Hi Cheri! Your blog on Dudley's agility was great. It sounds like so much fun. I've been wanting to get Finnigan into agility and I was hoping you could point me in the right direction. How did you get started? Is there an age that is best for them to start?

Aww, he looked adorable with droopy ears. :) You could see that they were working on going up though.

That's good to hear. Finn has large ears too and the breeder said we may have to tape them because of the size. Most people say they should start showing some lift by 14 weeks or taping may be necessary. He has two weeks to go and I don't see any changes but if Dudley's took their sweet time standing then we will give it time. My mom owns Finnigan's half brother (same father) who is a year old. He was originally a show puppy but one of his ears flopped back down at about 8 months so he was returned to the breeder and my Mom fell in love with him. One of Finn's half sisters had her ears taped for almost a year before they stood so we're hoping it's not in the gene pool. (I attached a picture of his half brother. Hopefully it shows up.)

Your Cardi is lovely. You don't see many blues. When did his ears go up? Did you have to tape them at all?

Dudley is a very handsome Blue, Malibu is hoping to get a blue brother for Christmas as things are in the works. Malibu is staring her herding training and loves sheep. Good luck in agility.

I added a picture of Taffy that I think looks a lot like one of your pictures of Whisper. Maybe they're cousins!

I got her here in Oklahoma fro a friend I went to high school with. Since I got her for more as a companion, I never got her papers and really don't know her breeding.

Great looking dogs. Of course I am a bit partial to the cardi but my parents have a pembroke. So fun to see the 2 play together. I have a great friend who lives in Kansas City. Was out there last July to visit. Hope to come out sometime with Le-Le and husband. I thought Kansas City was such a nice city.

Taffy is a beautiful Pembroke and Dudley is a handsome Cardigan. I've always wanted a blue merle. Maybe the next pup!

I love the Pem/Cardi mix. It's what I have and it's so much fun.
